"Doll Play Day" Tips And Ideas: #1

Hey everyone! So, throughout today, I thought it would be fun to do a sort of "mini series" with some fun tips and ideas of things to do with your doll keeping with the theme of "Doll Play Day" :) These are not mandatory things you must do to be part of "Doll Play Day", these are just some ideas for things to do that don't involve filming or posting on your blog :)

Tip #1:

C L E A N    Y O U R    D O L L 'S    S K I N !

Kit will be our lovely example for this tip, since she went camping with me and got quite a few scuffs and smudges on her :(

There are a lot of different methods that you can use to clean your doll's skin, but I will be using Mr. Clean Magic Erasers :)

Make sure to keep the doll clothes far away from the eraser so it doesn't get wet! ;)

I would also recommend putting your doll's hair up to keep it out of the way.

Unless your doll is really dirty, you don't need a full-sized Magic Eraser--I just cut a small square off the big one :)

Wet the eraser with a little bit of water, being careful not to get it on your doll's cloth :) Also be very careful if you're cleaning near your doll's face--it could take off her eyebrows, freckles, and lip and cheek paint!

Ta-da! She is clean now ;)

Ew! The eraser is so dirty! (it's hard to tell in the photo, but it is very gross :P )

I hope you enjoyed this short tip for "Doll Play Day"! :) Whether you're participating or not, have a wonderful dolly-filled day ;D

  1. This is a good tip:) I have been a little scared to use magic erases, but if it works fine for you, I think I'll give it a try:)
Also, I love your idea of the Doll Play Day!
I have six dolls (if you count my sisters doll she doesn't play with anymore) and nearly all of them are in tee shirts or really old dresses. Excluding Ivy, who is dressed as an elegant clown from yesterdays photosXD
    I really enjoyed this post

  2. Love this ! Kaya fell on her face and she now has a little thing on her nose , so I hope this works . My friend got hair grease all over her dolls face and I think he vinyl reacted badly to it , because some spots on her face are now black . Do you think these tips will work in it ?

    1. Thank you! :) As for your friend's doll, I would not advise using Magic Eraser for spots on her face (as I said, it can take off facial coloring.) but I think using a baking soda and water paste would work better for that sort of job. (A video from American Girl on how to do this can be found here: http://www.americangirl.com/play/doll-hair-and-care/?popup=video-skinCare )
